Hello!
I’m Darren, photography has always been my passion and for the past fifteen years, my job. I set up as DB Photography in 2008, shooting my first wedding as a much less beardy teenager, in an ill fitting three piece suit I had worn to my school prom. Here I am still today, in my mid thirties, with a hairier face, a family of my own, a professional studio and a slightly more casual look. That passion for photography has only gotten stronger too.
In those first couple of years I thought professionalism was everything, and of course it’s important. You want to know your wedding photography is in good hands and it is with me. However, it’s about so much more. I pride myself on making people feel comfortable in front of the camera and we achieve that, with it cropping up a lot our reviews all the time.
So about me, I live in Battle, East Sussex with my Wife, two awesome children, spaniel and two guinea pigs. I have a real passion for cooking and there’s nothing I love more than preparing a meal for family and friends. Im a board game and video game geek and proud of it. I also enjoy gardening although Im not that good. I like to involve myself in the local community and with my own experience help local businesses thrive. I currently sit as a Battle Town Councillor but don’t hold that against me haha ( no I can’t sort out your potholes).
Day to day I can be found between my home office and Hastings studio space where I shoot lots of family sessions. With clients who have been coming to me year on year to capture their moments. Our busiest time in the studio is undoubtedly Christmas where over a hundred families descend upon us for their annual photos.
Weddings are what we are undoubtedly known for most of all though. Over the past fifteen years I have had the opportunity to photograph in some incredible locations around the UK and Europe. Meeting the most awesome couples along the way. Not to mention the other suppliers I have worked with, who I now count as great friends.
